Tattoo FAQ

Your Dream Tattoo
So, you’ve always wanted a tattoo of a purple unicorn riding on a skateboard.  Now, with the magic of temporary tattoos, Buttonhead can make your dream tattoo come true (and without all of the pesky commitment that comes with getting the real thing). Here’s how it happens: If you have a printer-ready tattoo image, feel free to e-mail it to me at ali[!at]buttonhead.org. Please include your desired size and quantity for a quote. If you need help creating the artwork, no problem! All you need to get started is a solid idea of your design and an estimated $35 for creation of custom tattoo art (in addition to the cost of the actual temporary tattoo(s) and shipping). Just e-mail your idea, along with the desired size and quantity for a quote.

Sizing
Minimum: 1” x 1”
Maximum: None. Larger than 8” x 10” will be pieced

Minimum Order
The minimum order for custom Buttonhead temporary tattoos is ½ sheet of media at $10.00.

Packaging
Each temporary tattoo comes packaged in a zip bag with a set of instructions.

Special Occasion Packaging
For weddings, events and special occasions, I also offer custom packaging which includes a personalized cardstock tag that is fixed to the top of the favor for a nice finishing touch and the opportunity to add a text message for the guests. View a photo of the two packaging options compared.

White
Any white color in a temporary tattoo design will apply as clear.  Buttonhead recommends using grey as a substitute.

Mirroring
Each finished tattoo image will appear horizontally flipped or ‘mirrored’ while still on the transfer paper prior to application. Once the instructions have been followed and the tattoo applied, it will be oriented correctly (and beautifully!) on the skin. All mirroring takes place during production. If submitting your own artwork, there is no need to flip your design prior to submission.

Caution
Use of a temporary tattoo is not intended for children under age 12, individuals who are pregnant, nursing, have sensitive skin, or are allergic to medical grade glue. All temporary tattoos are made with medical grade glue and all non-toxic ingredients, but kids and expecting mommies tend to have more sensitive skin. So, we recommend they not use them to be on the safe side. Buttonhead reserves the right to refuse sale for unintended use.

Production Time
The amount of time your order will take depends on the artwork and the quantity being produced. If a custom design is being created, 1-2 rounds of proof is typically 3-4 days. Once the artwork is completed, production time is between 2-5 days.
