
How Do I Become Involved in Indie5?
There are two levels of Artist involvement in the Indie5 project:
Partnership and Guest Artist.
PARTNERSHIP
Partner Benefits
• You have the ability to contribute videos on a frequent basis and become one of the regular faces of Indie5.
• Your Etsy shop link appears on the main YouTube Channel, on each video, in the notes of each video, and in any other materials, interviews, etc. mentioning the group.
• You gain access to the ‘Inside Indie5’ e-mail group, which includes team updates, advanced knowledge of the show, and access to other opportunities.
• You can participate as a facilitator during the Sunday live chats (beginning this fall).
• You get mad bragging rights.
Partner Responsbilities
• A minimum of 1 video contributed each week.
• Contribute to group conversations and meetings.
• Artist Agreement must be signed. No compensation is offered for participation. All video submissions become property of the project.
GUEST ARTIST
Guest Artist Benefits
• Your video will air on the Indie5 show and provide exposure for your Etsy shop or website.
Guest Artist Responsibilities
• Artist Agreement must be signed. No compensation is offered for participation.
• Video submissions must not air in any other capacity before or for 2 weeks after it airs on the Indie5 show. You retain the rights.
How do I submit a video to Indie5?
There are two ways that you can submit a video to Indie5.
1) Apply to be a PARTNER. Here’s how:
* Create a video audition (which may air on the channel!).
- Introduce yourself
- Give your Etsy shop URL
- Tell us a little bit about your craft
-Show us your workspace
- Any tips/advice for Etsy sellers?
* Sign up for an account at http://www.mediafire.com. Upload your video and send to ali@buttonhead.org.
Notes:
- Video should be no longer than 2 minutes in length with clear audio and a steady pace.
- No music or title overlay (text) can be added to the video submission.
- If we love your video, we will notify you, mail you a contract, and begin airing your videos on Indie5.
2) Apply to be a GUEST ARTIST. Here’s how:
* Create a craft and/or Etsy related video.
* Sign up for an account at http://www.mediafire.com. Upload your video and send to ali@buttonhead.org.
Notes:
- New video submissions are preferred. If your video has been featured on any other YouTube sites, blogs, or other media outlets, please disclose this information up front.
- The topic possibilities are endless. Our main areas of focus are: Setting Up and Maintaining Your Etsy Shop, Item and Artist Showcasing, Business and Marketing, Current Events, Community Issues, and Other Special Series.
- If creating a video specifically for Indie5, it’s best to check in to see if this is a topic we would be interested in airing. E-mail ali@buttonhead.org to inquire.
- Ideal video length is 2 minutes with steady pace and clear audio.
